I was a bit skeptical about the assembly at first, but the burner heats up the water fast enough that after about ten minutes I could see the saucer spinning on its own. It’s great for showing how heat turns into motion.

The little push on the saucer to start the flywheel is such a satisfying moment after you’ve watched the water heat up. Assembly took me an evening, but the burner heating the water and the whole cycle running made it feel genuinely educational.

The water finally boiling and giving that little saucer a nudge is such a satisfying payoff—watching it spin on its own feels like magic. Putting the kit together was genuinely fun, and I learned a lot about how the heat drives the whole cycle.
